Bio:
Education Coordinator for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was selected as an Item Writer for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and participated in the item writing panel sessions in Chicago, Illinois, in October 2007. Ms. Marshall’s clinical background in Emergency, Interventional Radiology, Intensive Care, Endoscopy, and Operating Room Circulator offers Provo College’s nursing students an expert education. In addition, her certifications as a national instructor for American Heart Association courses (Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and the Emergency Nurse’s Association’s Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum certification courses provides for a well-rounded combination of theory to supplement the practical application in acute care settings. Ms. Marshall is the course coordinator for the Acute Care Nursing Course. She is passionate about reforming nursing curriculum and heads the nursing curriculum committee at Provo College. Ms. Marshall is married and the mother of three children and one step-daughter. She also has one grandchild. She enjoys recreational tennis and wake boarding .

Betty Ann Elliott

Bio:
Betty Ann is the mother of eleven and grandmother of twenty who has been very happily married for 38 years. She loves to cook, read, snorkel, and hike in the mountains.

Betty Ann started nursing school at age 43 and found nursing a very satisfying part of her life. Teaching nursing students is a fulfillment of one of her lifelong dreams. She loves helping people realize their dreams as she did. Betty Ann has been an adjunct faculty member since the inception of the Provo College Nursing Program. She taught part-time until December 2007 when she accepted a full-time position as a member of the nursing faculty.

Betty Ann has nursing experience as an RN in adult and pediatric home care, labor and delivery, mother/baby and hospice care, as well as experience on a variety of floors as a relief nurse. She has delivered over 550 babies as a nurse midwife. She has also given volunteer service to the United Way of Utah County and Helping Hands for Haiti.

Gene

Gene Reynolds
Full-Time Faculty

Bio:
Gene has worked as an RN in a Progressive Care/Step-Down/Telemetry unit for nearly 15 years, becoming a Progressive Care Certified Nurse, with a subspecialty in Cardiac Medicine. He worked as the Unit Educator for a significant portion of those 15 years. He is certified through the American Heart Association as an instructor of Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He has written two workbooks and developed two classes on Basic Rhythm Interpretation and Advanced Arrhythmias Interpretation and has developed a course on 12-Lead ECG interpretation. He has presented at local and national critical care conferences, including presentations at the National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Association’s Critical Care Conference in 2006. He received a Master’s of Science in Nursing Education in May 2008 and has served students both as a classroom teacher and as a clinical instructor. He is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the National Nurse Staff Development Organization. He is passionate about nursing and thoroughly enjoys teaching nursing students.

Gene is married, with four children. He has one grandson and another on the way. He enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors camping, fishing, hiking and playing games (nothing better than fresh trout caught in the mountains). He also enjoys gardening, remodeling his house and cooking. Recently, his family has discovered the wonderful scenic views of southern and central Utah.


Jennifer

Bio:
Jennifer joined Provo College Nursing Program as a full-time faculty member in September 2008. She brings a great deal of clinical nursing and nursing education experience to the program as well as a true passion for educating others.

Jennifer has spent several years working in the Emergency Department at St. Mark’s Hospital where she uncovered her desire to share her nursing knowledge and clinical experience with others. She applied for a position as the medical/surgical clinical nurse educator at St. Mark’s Hospital where she was able to fulfill that teaching desire prior to joining Provo College.

Jennifer received both her undergraduate BSN and graduate MSN degrees from Westminster College School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Her graduate work was focused on developing a model and theoretical framework to educate nursing students about disaster management and preparedness. Jennifer has received special training from the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) to teach the Chemical Stockpile and Emergency Preparedness Program to our students. Jennifer holds many instructor certificates including: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Emergency Nursing Association Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC).

Her true passion for teaching, vast knowledge base and sparkling personality are a few qualities she brings into the classroom.


Robyn Ellis

Bio:
Full-time faculty since 2008. Masters in Health Care Administration. A South Carolina native, owned and operated The Charleston Assisted Living Center in Cedar Hills, Utah. Executive Director for Beverly Healthcare and nursing supervisor for Columbia-HCA facility in SC. American Red Cross and American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor. Robyn is the course coordinator for the Leadership & Community Nursing Course. Teaching has been a dream fulfilled. Robyn is married to a Virginia native and has 4 great kids. She enjoys volunteering at her kid's school, traveling to tropical locations with her husband, and snowmobiling with her family.
